SPRINGFEST 2014 PROMOTION

With attendance around 400 for the past two years, the SpringFest festival at Parkway Hills United Methodist Church in Madison, MS, was hoping to see higher numbers of guests for its 10-year anniversary in 2014.

I took over public relations and social media for the event, sending press releases about vendors and performers and creating original content to share on the event's Facebook page

My public relations and social media work yielded coverage in The Clarion-Ledger, Jackson Free Press, Madison County Journal, Madison County Herald, and VIP Jackson, as well as listings in numerous online calendars and increased likes, comments and shares on Facebook.

But the biggest accomplishment was seeing SpringFest attendance jump to just shy of 700 this year and have vendors plan to return next year.

ABOVE: "Lots of Reasons to Enjoy SpringFest" (left) and "Who will be at SpringFest?" (right) are two promotional videos I scripted, shot, edited and posted to the event's Facebook page.

ABOVE: "What's SpringFest?" (left) is a video I created using an image from a vintage crochet pattern book. I scripted the piece and voiced all the characters. Using the Yakit app, I animated the photograph. "SpringFest 2014" (right) is a compilation video I shot footage for while at the event. The low-resolution video was a quick piece I cobbled together the morning after the event to share with the church from Facebook.
